On July 26, 2025, my new single Hypnopotamus was released. This track was born in a completely spontaneous way. One day, while reflecting on the music and artists that inspire me, I thought about why certain melodies feel so captivating and immersive.
One of my biggest inspirations is Armin van Buuren, especially his track Intense, which I find incredibly mesmerizing. I realized that I would love some of my own tracks to have that same hypnotic quality. That’s when the word “hypno” appeared in my mind.
But hypnosis can be different – sometimes sharp and intense, sometimes slow and methodical. And suddenly, I remembered a scene from the animated movie Madagascar 2 with Moto-Moto the hippo – a heavy, slow, yet charming character appearing to a deep, groovy track as he walks out of the water.
Somehow, these two ideas – hypnotic vibes and a hippopotamus – merged together. That’s how the image of the Hypnopotamus was born.
The song itself reflects that combination of hypnotic energy and playful groove. It’s both entrancing and fun, with lyrics that invite you to let go, drift, and dive into the vibe.
