“Déjà Vu” is a track that captures the hypnotic cycle of love—how it feels new every time, yet somehow painfully familiar. This song is an exploration of the eternal push and pull between heart and mind, questioning whether we are guided by emotions or trapped by fate. With its haunting melodies, deep electronic textures, and evocative French phrases, “Déjà Vu” immerses the listener in a surreal yet deeply personal experience.

A New Home in Nostalgie

Originally, “Déjà Vu” was envisioned as part of the album Virgin Mind, an exploration of the untouched, unshaped nature of consciousness and the way it continuously learns, forgets, and relearns the same lessons. However, as the album evolved, songwriter and producer Yauhen Panimatchanka decided to release tracks infused with French motifs and lyrics as part of a separate, early mini-album—Nostalgie. This shift allowed Déjà Vu to find a home among compositions that share its nostalgic and romantic essence, blending seamlessly into a collection that pays homage to memory, emotion, and longing.

The Evolution of the Lyrics

Originally, “Déjà Vu” began with the following lines:

Since I was young, I’ve seen it all,
A cat on the corner, a déjà vu call.
A stranger who passes, just like back then,
The moment is fading, then comes back again.

However, as the music took shape, these opening lines, despite their poetic intent, did not align with the timing and flow of the composition. Sometimes, a song reveals its true form only when lyrics and melody meet. As a result, the first verse was removed in the final version of the track, but it remains a part of the song’s journey and will be preserved on my website for those who wish to see its original foundation.

A Sound that Hypnotizes

The production of “Déjà Vu” blends hypnotic electronic beats, ambient textures, and haunting violin elements, creating an atmosphere that is both intoxicating and melancholic. French phrases like “Ouh là là, encore, encore!” and “L’amour est une folie que la raison ignore” add a touch of mystery, making the track feel sensual yet introspective. The driving rhythm ensures the song remains dynamic, steering clear of stagnation while maintaining its mesmerizing quality.

“Déjà Vu” is more than just a love song—it’s a reflection on the human condition, on how we chase the same emotions while believing each time is the first. In the end, we are all caught in our own loops, falling fast, ignoring the past, and always returning to the same familiar place.

Listen. Feel. And ask yourself: is this the first time… or just another déjà vu?

Lyrics

Some hear the echoes, some see the signs,
But love keeps me lost in a loop every time.

Ouh là là, encore, encore!
L'amour est une folie que la raison ignore.
Falling so fast like I always do,
Lost in the past, like a déjà vu.

A mind so pure, a heart so wide,
Yet love keeps pulling me back inside.
Who writes the script, who holds the key?
Is it just fate repeating in me?

Some break the cycle, some break away,
But love pulls me back, no matter the pain.

Ouh là là, encore, encore!
L'amour est une folie que la raison ignore.
Falling so fast like I always do,
Lost in the past, like a déjà vu.

***

Oh non, pas encore!
On ne peut pas commander son cœur
My heart disobeys, it never learns,
Tells me to run, then begs me for more.

Ouh là là, encore, encore!
Falling again, ignoring the past,
Falling so fast like I always do,
Lost in the past, like a déjà vu.
