What if every night we die, and every morning a new version of us is born?

This is the unsettling yet strangely beautiful thought behind “Who Woke Up?”, my latest track that explores the fleeting nature of consciousness, the way our identity resets every morning, and how memories feel like borrowed fragments from someone who lived just yesterday.

For years, I’ve noticed something strange about waking up. It’s not just a return to reality — it’s a reconstruction of the self. The mind doesn’t just turn on; it reloads, scanning through past experiences, piecing together who “I” am today. Sometimes, I wake up and, for a brief moment, I don’t know where I am, or even who I am. Before my eyes even open, my brain paints a world, pulling from past homes, childhood places, and memories that shouldn’t belong to the present.

It’s as if each night, the person who existed ceases to be, leaving behind a bundle of memories for someone new to inherit. Yesterday’s “me” is gone, today’s “me” is a replica. But how different are they? How much of yesterday still belongs to today?

“Who Woke Up?” is built around this eerie cycle, wrapped in hypnotic electronic beats, repetitive rhythms that mirror the loops of waking life, and a hook that lingers in your mind like a half-remembered dream. The song dances between mystery and energy — soft, dreamlike moments that feel like floating in the void, followed by pulsing, almost obsessive refrains that ask the ultimate question:

Who? Who? Who woke up?

This track isn’t just about my own experience — it’s a reflection of something universal. We all wake up as someone slightly different from yesterday. Some people might feel this change intensely, others barely notice it. But at its core, this song is about that subtle shift, that unspoken moment of uncertainty we all share before we fully step into the new day.

And maybe, just maybe, it’s a reminder that we shouldn’t fear the unknown. After all, we’ve already been through countless tiny deaths and rebirths — every single morning of our lives.

So tell me…

Who woke up today?

Lyrics

Who...? Who...?
Who woke up?

Lyin’ down, lights go out,
No more names, no more doubts.
No more questions, no more past,
Gone so fast, gone so fast.

Tick-tock, eyes unlock,
Where am I? Oh, what the shock.
Hands are mine, feet are mine,
But where’s the one who closed their eyes?

Who-who-who-who woke up?
Who took my place? Who holds this cup?

Who took my place? Who holds this cup?
Who-who-who-who thinks like me?
Or am I just a memory?

La-la-la, yesterday’s gone,
Ba-ba-ba, sing a new song.
Na-na-na, brain turns on,
But who-who-who am I at dawn?

Oh, this room, oh, this light,
Did I live here all my life?
Childhood desk, mom’s old chair,
Wait… that shouldn’t still be there?

Tick-tock, eyes unlock,
Where am I? Oh, what the shock.
Names return, faces glow,
But tell me now—who used to know?

Who-who-who-who woke up?
Who took my place? Who holds this cup?
Who-who-who-who thinks like me?
Or am I just a memory?

La-la-la, yesterday’s gone,
Ba-ba-ba, sing a new song.
Na-na-na, brain turns on,
But who-who-who am I at dawn?
